Joonkee Hong

Director

Joonkee Hong leads Vogo Fund Labs, which serves as a laboratory for innovative, technology-driven asset management opportunities.


Mr. Hong worked for Wall Street firms including Salomon Brothers, Merrill Lynch, and Lehman Brothers. He has worked in global financial hubs such as New York and Hong Kong, specializing primarily in derivatives and capital markets.


Most recently, Mr. Hong served as the head of Korea and Asia for Cumberland DRW, a global leader in cryptocurrency trading. Cumberland DRW is a subsidiary of DRW, a Chicago-based firm that specializes in technology-driven financial product trading and market development.


He also has extensive experience in Korean financial markets, having served as the Korea country head for UBS Group and as an independent board director of Kakao Bank. He was actively involved in various economic and policy advisory roles for government offices such as the President's Office, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Bank of Korea. In recognition of his contributions, he has been awarded a commendation certificate and a plaque of appreciation from the Minister of Economy and Finance and the chairman of the Financial Supervisory Service.


Mr. Hong holds bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
